长期以来对硼酸盐化学进行了多方面的研究,先后开展过新型硼酸盐的合成及其热化学;含硼骨架无机微孔晶体材料的量热学研究;  硼酸盐基质稀土掺杂发光材料的制备及其应用;硼酸盐纳米材料的制备及其阻燃性能 ;硼酸盐多级孔结构材料构筑及吸附污染物;硼酸根插层双过渡金属氢氧化物纳米结构材料的制备及其热解产物的电催化分解水性能,等方面的研究。 主持国家自然科学基金4项,陕西省自然科学基金2项,横向课题3项。在“Small”, “J. Mater. Chem. A ”, “Inorg. Chem.”, “Nano Research”, “Cryst. Growth Des.”, “Dalton Trans.”等刊物发表SCI源期刊学术论文150多篇,授权中国发明专利30项。主持的部分科研成果获2015年陕西高等学校科学技术奖一等奖,2017年陕西省科学技术三等奖。

       主编教材3部,在化学教育、大学化学等期刊发表教学论文6篇,主持的“师范院校本科无机化学教学系统改革的探索与实践” 2020年获陕西省教学成果二等奖。
