本人长期从事配合物功能材料的构筑与功能研究,涉及分子磁性材料、刺激响应性发光/磁性金属有机框架材料、金属有机框架催化材料等,2003年以来主持国家自然科学基金研究课题8项(面上项目/重大计划培育项目)及包括教育部新世纪优秀人才支持计划在内的多项省部级项目,在J. Am. Chem. Soc.、Chem. Sci.、Chem. Commun.、J. Mater. Chem. A、J. Phys. Chem. Lett.、Chem. Eur. J.、ChemSusChem、Small、Coord. Chem. Rev.、Inorg. Chem.、化学学报、中国化学等学术期刊发表论文200多篇,研究工作获得国内外同行广泛引用,2014年以来每年进入Elsevier中国高被引学者榜单。

1) 系统研究了叠氮桥手性配位聚合物的自发拆分构筑和分子磁性、叠氮-羧基混桥磁性配位聚合物尤其是单链磁体的构筑和磁性,获得重要的磁构关系信息,拓展了分子磁性研究领域,受到国内外同行的广泛认可。

2) 近年来致力于刺激响应性金属有机框架材料的构筑和应用研究,主要利用缺电子性联/多吡啶鎓单元的电子/电荷转移特性开发新的功能材料。首次发现了联吡啶鎓类化合物及其金属有机框架的压致变色、水致变色现象,初步阐明其电子转移机理,并利用上述变色现象实现了金属有机框架发光性质及磁性的压力调控和溶剂(水)调控;在多吡啶鎓金属有机框架材料中发现了对小分子醇类化合物具有专一性的光-化学双刺激变色现象,阐明了其主客体电子转移机理;发展了缺电子性离子型金属有机框架材料的合成方法,系统研究了基于主客体电子/电荷转移的离子交换变色、有机胺吸附变色,并用于离子、胺类污染物的高灵敏荧光检测。首次将指示剂位移分析概念引入金属有机框架研究,大大提高了脂肪胺荧光分析的灵敏度和选择性,阐明了金属有机框架内指示剂位移的竞争电荷转移机制和空间限域效应。

3) 近年来还开展了催化功能导向的金属有机框架材料的构筑研究,获得高效催化多组分偶联反应(醛-炔-胺A3偶联)的Cu(II)/Ag(I)金属有机框架材料,基于点击化学发展了制备离子型MOFs的新方法,获得完全多相化的高效CO2转化催化剂。

4)2004年注册为中国化学会永久会员,2006年至今任中国化学会晶体化学专业委员会委员,2010-2018年任专业委员会副主任,积极参与专业委员会活动和进展年报编写,积极参加中国化学会学术年会、全国无机化学学术会议、全国配位化学会议等学术会议,多次作分会邀请报告和分会报告主持人。
